Two awful nights in a row with a very sad, very sick, baby boy. A fever of 103.5, a horribly congested nose with no signs of relief at all, no eating, difficulty sleeping-- this is heartbreaking. All he wants is to be held and cuddled, (which we're not complaining about) but we wish we could take it all away and make him better. As a parent, you never want your child to hurt or be in pain and when the moment comes when they are, you wish you could take it upon yourself to feel that pain and hurt for them. It's frustrating to watch knowing there really isn't anything more that you can do. We debated taking him to the ER or waiting until morning to call the doctor. We decided to let him get as much rest as he could in the comfort of our home. We gave him medicine to help with the fever while keeping the room as cool as we could using a fan and cool-mist humidifier, in hopes that the fever would break. Morning came with no such luck. The pediatrician checked for signs of infection and then gave us some helpful and comforting advice. Hopefully we'll have our happy, giggly Brody bear back soon, because we really really miss seeing a smile on his face.
